"I've Got a Shepherd" (part 1)- Sermon Notes

“I’ve Got a Shepherd” (part 1)

Text: Psalm 23 (ESV)
Series: Summer in the Psalms – Week 4

Main Idea:

Life gets hard, but no matter what we go through—we don’t go through it alone.
We’ve got a Shepherd. One who provides, protects, restores, and stays close.

Psalm 23:1 – “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

  • David makes it personal—“my” Shepherd, not just the Shepherd.

  • When the Lord leads, I don’t lack what I need.

  • Key Point: Provision is the Shepherd’s job—following is mine

Psalm 23:2 – “He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.”

  • God gives us rest and refreshing even when life is busy or chaotic.

  • Sometimes He has to make us slow down so we don’t burn out.

  • Key Point: Real peace is found in His presence, not your circumstances.
